Aide – Technician
Duties and Responsibilities:
Psychiatric
aids and technicians help care for mentally ill, disabled, or inform people who
are confined to hospitals and mental
facilities. They work under the supervision of mental health professionals or nurses. They often
work in hospitals, crisis centers, and schools. Psychiatric technicians usually have more
formal responsibilities than aids. Psychiatric aides and technicians often:

Help patients eat.
·
Escort patients to clinics.
·
Help with housekeeping.
·
Teach daily living skills.
Average Salary:
$12,000 - $24,000
Educational Requirements:
Most Psychiatric do not need to
have high school diplomas or formal training, however most employers prefer
that they do. Psychiatric should take the most challenging high school courses in
English and science. A short training course or previous job experience is also
required.

Reflection: I would not like to be a Psychiatric Aid - Technician because the pay is low and it does not interest me.
