Student Success Statement

"Obedience... is the primary object of all sound education."
-Elizabeth Missing Sewell
I believe that this statement is telling us that we should obey and learn all that we can so that we can be well educated. Also we must obey the person that is teaching us because he will lose hope is you mess around.

Obedience

Obedience means compliance with order, request or law, or submission authority.

Three words that mean the same thing as obedience are

  1. Deferential
  2. Law-Abiding
  3. Compliant
Some Examples of obedience are:

  • Going to bed when your mother or fathers asks you to do so.
  • Being quiet when your teacher asks you to, even though you want to continue to talk across the room.
